Highlights of Rwanda
07 Nights / 08 Days
Kigali – Butare – Nyungwe – Kibuye – Gisenyi (Lake Kivu) – Volcanoes NP – Kigali

Day 01: Arrive in Kigali (By Flight)
Arrive at Kigali airport.Transfer to the hotel.
City tour with possible visit of the Genocide memorial if time allows.
Night in Kigali.

Day 02: Kigali – Butare (By Road) (125 Kms. / 2H 55M)
Butare – Nyungwe (By Road) (54 Kms. / 1H 10M)
Transfer to Butare (Huye) where it is possible to visit the national museum and Nyanza Hill.
Afterwards transfer to Nyungwe Forest.
Night in Nyungwe.

Day 03: Nyungwe Forest
Nyungwe is one of East Africa’s largest forests, with 13 monkey species, including chimpanzees.
Make a walk through the forest in search of chimpanzees, monkeys and birds, or do the waterfall trail.
Night in Nyungwe.

Day 04: Nyungwe – Kibuye (By Road) (94 Kms. / 2H 10M)
Kibuye – Gisenyi (Lake Kivu) (94 Kms. / 2H 10M)
We drive to Kibuye on the shores of Lake Kivu, where we will have lunch.
Afterwards we proceed to Gisenyi, where we will spend the night.
Night in Gisenyi.

Day 05: Gisenyi – Volcanoes NP (By Road) (65 Kms. / 1H 40M)
Relax at the beach in the morning, or go for a nature walk along the shore.
In the afternoon we drive to the Volcanoes National Park.
Night in Volcanoes NP.

Day 06: Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast we bring you to the starting point of the gorilla tracking.
After the briefing you begin your tracking of the gorillas.
The bamboo forest will drip around you as you first hear the breaking of bamboo signaling the group is near and then you will be face to face with one of the most delightful and fascinating creatures in the world.
After an hour’s viewing you will make the trek back to the lodge.Night in Volcanoes NP.

Day 07: Volcanoes NP
Optional activities for today (one activity included): Make a nature walk in the national park, visit the golden monkeys, climb a volcano or visit Dian Fossey’s Grave.
It is also possible to make another gorilla tracking, or to visit the Twin Lakes, Lake Ruhondo and Lake Burera @ USD 1500 Per Person.
Night in Volcanoes NP.

Day 08: Volcanoes National Park – Kigali (By Road) (105 Kms. / 2H 30M)
After breakfast, drive to Kigali airport for the flight to onward destination.
