Doha – Kuwait City – Manama
Day 1 Arrival in Doha
Today we arrive in Doha – welcome to Qatar
Transfer to the hotel.
Overnight in Doha.
Doha is the capital of Qatar.
It is a modern and rapidly developing city and, considering the money being poured into construction, Doha looks set to become one of the premier cities in the Gulf within a few years. Back in 1825, the city was founded under the name Al-Bidda. The name “Doha” came from the Arabic ad-dawa, “the big tree.” The reference might be to a prominent tree that stood at the site where the original fishing village arose, on the eastern coast of the Qatar peninsula. Or it might have been derived from “dohat” — Arabic for bay or gulf — referring to the Doha Bay area.
Day 2 Doha Sightseeing
Breakfast at the hotel.
Ruled by the Al Thani family since the mid-1800s, Qatar transformed itself from a poor British protectorate noted mainly for coalescing into an independent state with significant oil and natural gas revenues.
During the late 1980s and early 1990s, the Qatari economy was crippled by a continuous siphoning off of petroleum revenues by the amir, who had ruled the country since 1972. He was overthrown by his son, the current Amir Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, in a bloodless coup in 1995. In 2001, Qatar resolved its longstanding border disputes with both Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. Today, oil and natural gas revenues enable Qatar to have one of the highest per capita incomes in the world.
At our first stop this morning we’ll learn about and experience a living tradition with a visit to a camel race track. Here, camels, the ‘ships of the desert,’ are not merely animals; they are symbols of Qatari pride and heritage. We’ll witness first hand their rigorous morning training routines and the intriguing use of robot jockeys, a revolutionary innovation that has redefined camel racing since 2004. Though it is unlikely that we’ll witness an actual race, it’s a fascinating immersion into the heart of Qatari culture.
Our day’s program also includes the Modern Art Museum as well as the Qatar National Museum. Our will also feature a panoramic tour of Shahaniya Cultural City and the dhow harbour and sea-front corniche area, where will take a stroll; you will be struck by the ever-expanding and rising urban skyline.
Overnight in Doha.
Day 3 Doha – Kuwait City (By Flight)

The economic, cultural, and political capital of Kuwait, Kuwait City sits on the shores of the Persian Gulf, and is a mixture of exclusive Western-style hotels, designer shopping malls, traditional Islamic architecture, and street markets. Oil revenues have helped Kuwait City rebound from the Gulf War and the building boom shows no signs of slowing down.
Overnight in Kuwait City.
Day 4 Kuwait City Tour
Breakfast at the hotel.
Today we have a guided tour of Kuwait City.
We will begin with one of Kuwait’s most famous landmarks, the Kuwait Towers, an iconic landmark on Kuwait’s skyline.
We also visit the Tareq Rajab Museum, a private collection of the Rajab family. The museum deals with calligraphy, pottery, metalwork, glass, wood, ivory and jade carvings of the Islamic world. Early calligraphy is presented in a separate small room, showing pages from the Holy Qur’an, dating back to the first three centuries of the Islamic period. There are also displays of costumes, textiles, embroideries and jewelry of the Islamic world.
We also visit the Bayt Al Othman Museum, with a vast display of popular Kuwaiti culture and history in a large traditional complex of inter-connected ancient houses and courtyards.
We will also have a chance to photograph and admire the very photogenic dhow harbour and fish market.
Overnight in Kuwait City.
Day 5 Kuwait City – Manama, Bahrain (By Flight)
Breakfast at the hotel.
Trasnfer to the airport for flight to Manama.
Today we fly from Kuwait to Bahrain and transfer to our hotel.
Frequently called the Pearl of the Arabian Gulf, Bahrain is an archipelago of 33 low-lying islands located in the heart of the Gulf, and offering a blend of ancient and modern. This is a place where modern skyscrapers share the landscape with majestic mosques, embodiments of Islamic art, culture and architecture.
Rich in history, Bahrain was once part of the ancient civilization of Dilmun and served as an important link in trade routes between Sumeria and the Indus Valley as long as 5,000 years ago.
Manama is Bahrain’s modern capital, and is dominated by a Manhattan-style skyline. Today much land, including the diplomatic area, has been reclaimed from the sea.
Overnight in Manama.
Day 6 Bahrain: Area Tour
Breakfast at the hotel.
Today will be spent exploring this tiny island state. We begin with a visit to the Bahrain National Museum where we will trace the archaeological development of the region. Through sculpture and ceramics, reconstructed burial mounds, Arabic calligraphy and illuminated Korans, the different periods of Bahrain’s history are presented.
We will also visit the Bahrain Fort. The first dwellings on the site are believed to have been constructed around 2800 BC, and have subsequently been overlaid by numerous fortified settlements. The last was built in the early 16th century to defend Portugal’s recent acquisition of the islands; for this reason, it is also known locally as the Portuguese Fort.
We will also pay a visit to the Al Fatih Grand Mosque, Bahrain’s largest mosque and a magnificent piece of architecture. On the Island of Muharraq we visit Shaikh Isa House, in the old town of Muharraq. This was once the home of the Amir’s great-grandfather, Shaikh Isa Bin Ali Al Khalifa. It provides a fine example of local architecture, complete with wall carving and latticework, and representative of traditional 19th century life. The house is complete with a ‘wind tower’; constructed 5-6m (16-20ft) above the house and open on all four sides. One of the early forms of air conditioning, this acts as a funnel, catching the breeze and drawing it down into the cavities below, as well as allowing the release of hot air like a chimney.
No visit to Bahrain would be complete without a tour of the Old Souk, with its profusion of colours, sounds, and aromas. The souk lies in the centre of the old town, near the archway of Bab al-Bahrain and, although much of the surrounding area is modern, the street layout and division of occupations still follow traditional lines. All wares are sold, from cloth of different colours and textures to gold and jewely as well as the traditional array of spices and local produce.
Time permitting, in order to sample some of Bahrain’s past, we will make a visit to the A’ali Burial Mounds.

No visit to Jordan will be complete without seeing the capital of the ancient Nabataean kingdom, Petra. The lost city of Petra, carved entirely by man out of the rose-red sandstone rocks, puts your imagination to the test. Its mystical and glorious place, an eternal tribute to a lost civilization.
Petra was the central meeting point of the Nabataean spice routes that originated from the Persian Gulf, Western Arabia, and the Red Sea. About two thousand years ago, Petra became the capital of the Nabatean Empire. The city was so famous that one of its kings, Aretas IV, is even mentioned in the Bible. The natural wealth of the mountainous area is magnificently combined with the refined culture and massive architecture of the Nabateans, who carved their theatre, temples, facades, tombs, monasteries, roadhouses entirely out of rose-red sandstone rocks.
No wonder UNESCO has placed Petra on its World Heritage List, one enters Petra by passing through the Siq, a deep and narrow gorge, at the end of which Petra’s most famous monument suddenly appears dramatically al- Khazneh or the Treasury.
You may recognize it as the setting for the final sequence of the movie ‘Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade’. But the Treasury is only the beginning. Walking and climbing in Petra hundreds of buildings carved out of stone and eroded through the centuries into fabulous multicolored walls will be revealed to you. Return to your hotel in Petra for the night.

The unusually warm, incredibly buoyant, and mineral-rich waters have attracted visitors since ancient times, including King Herod the Great and the beautiful Egyptian queen, Cleopatra. All of whom have basked in the rich, black, exhilarating mud of the Dead Sea and have floated effortlessly on their backs while soaking up the healthful minerals of the water along with the softly diffused rays of the Jordanian sun. PM Visit the historical sites of Jakarta
On your first day, you will fly to the Indonesian capital Jakarta at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. Nicknamed the “Great Durian,” this sprawling megalopolis covers more than 290 square miles in the western part of Java.
In the evening, return to the hotel.
Overnight in Jakarta.
Day 2 Jakarta – Bandung (by road)
Breakfast at hotel.
Head a little south of the city of Jakarta is the city of Bandung, another city created by Dutch immigrants nestled between mountains along a river basin. You should be able to drive or catch a bus between the two fairly quickly, but we recommend leaving early on your second day to make the most of daylight hours.
Bandung is heavily influenced by Dutch visitors who hoped to make the city the new capital of the nation. This immediately inspired an influx of residents when it was first established, ultimately resulting in the creation of the sprawling town filled with great restaurants, European-inspired custom boutiques, and arts and cultural venues that visitors enjoy today.
Once you arrive in Bandung, you can head to Tangkuban Perahu, a volcano just north of the city (pictured above). Although the last time this volcano erupted was in 2013, the volcano is still considered active and you should check before planning a visit to this beautiful place.
After the volcano, you won’t want to miss some of the many, many tea plantations in and around the city of Bandung, most of which have been around and in use since Dutch immigrants first tried to claim power over the region.
Then you’ll want to be back in town before dark to check into your hotel (we recommend Dusun Bambu’s room facilities) and grab a bite to eat at any number of excellent restaurants in the area – ask your hotel concierge or check the list of TripAdvisor of “Best Places to Eat in Bandung” to plan your dinner or just wander around until something suits your tastes.

We will enjoy the rich diversity of wildlife that will invite us to lose ourselves in the infinity of its plains to find lions, leopards, rhinoceroses, elephants… until we reach the banks of the Mara River with its chocolate waters in which they frolic a few meters from we hippos.
The Mara River bed is the natural barrier that the large migratory herds of wildebeest and zebra must cross each year, moving between the Masai Mara Reserve and the Serengeti National Park. In our camp we find ourselves in a privileged area to follow in the footsteps of the great migration. Walking safari through the main crossing points of the Great Migration on the banks of the Mara River.
Day 04 Masai Mara – Lake Victoria (By Road) (250 Kms. / 5H 10M)
At dawn, you can optionally go on a balloon safari (not included in the tour) in which you can fly over the herds in silence at sunrise before landing in front of a champagne breakfast on the savannah in the most genuine style of the safaris of yesteryear.
Breakfast at the hotel.
In the morning, on the way out of the park, we will be seen off by elegant giraffes, many hippos, wildebeest, zebras… We crossed the border and entered TANZANIA through LAKE VICTORIA, the second largest lake in the world with its local customs and fishing villages, which adds a very interesting ethnic point to your route.
Also known as Victoria Nyanza or Ukerewe, it will welcome us with its idiosyncrasy and biodiversity. This place is a privilege outside any tourist route. Boat trip at sunset to enjoy the sunset and the ornithological richness that this unknown paradise offers.
NOTE: Bring your documentation by hand because this day we will have to go through the border formalities to enter Tanzania. At some times of the year accommodation on Lake Victoria may not be at the Lukuba Island Lodge (Private Island in the Lake) but rather at the Speke Bay Lodge situated on the shore of the lake.
Day 05 Lake Victoria – Serengeti (By Road) (280 Kms. / 5H 10M)
Breakfast at the hotel.
We will have another 45 minute boat ride to observe the fishermen and their traditional ways of fishing.
We continue towards the SERENGETI National Park, a natural extension of the Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya. Every year, between July and October, about one and a half million wildebeest, 250,000 zebras and half a million gazelles, followed shortly by lions and hyenas, cross this border in search of fresh pasture. They are the famous Migrations, one of the most overwhelming spectacles of nature. Safaris in 4×4.
Tonight we will be greeted by our camp staff on our return from safari and we can relax with a wonderful starlight dinner, all in true Out of Africa style.
Night in Serengeti.
Day 06 Serengeti
Breakfast at the hotel.
Jeep safari in Serengeti National Park.
The best safaris, or at least the best chance of witnessing hunting scenes, take place at dawn, when the savannah stretches and nocturnal animals are still active, and at dusk.
We will dedicate these moments to meet the big five or better known as the “big five”: lions, buffalo, elephants, rhinos and leopards. Full day safari in 4×4.
We will sleep in the middle of one of the largest wildlife sanctuaries on the planet. His landscapes respond to the mythical image of Africa: large spaces, deep blue skies dotted with clouds, cool sunrises and fiery sunsets, and at night, a unique display of stars.
Night in Serengeti.
Day 07 Serengeti – Ngorongoro (By Road) (211 Kms. / 4H 10M)
Breakfast at the hotel.
Safari at sunrise on the way to the NGORONGORO Conservation Area.
We will pay close attention to another singularity of the Serengeti National Park, the Kopjes, rock islands in a sea of grass where lions, leopards and cheetahs love to rest on top of these rocks. Breakfast.
If the schedule allows it, we will optionally visit the Olduvai Gorge, where many fossils of the first hominids have been found. Before arriving at our accommodation we will visit a Maasai village in the Ngorongoro region.
Our camp will provide you, in addition to spectacular views over the Crater, an authentic Masai experience. Being able to live together and enjoy a chat and a glass of wine around the fire together with our Masais who guard the camp: it will surely become a memory forever.
Night in Ngorongoro.
Day 08 Ngorongoro – Arusha (By Road) (175 Kms. / 3H 10M)
Breakfast at the hotel.
With the first rays of sun we go down in 4×4 vehicles into the Ngorongoro Caldera for our safari. No reserve offers a spectacle as grandiose as the Ngorongoro Crater.
A volcanic caldera 600 meters deep and over 20 kilometers in diameter that contains the largest “permanent” concentration of wildlife in Africa. Wild animals and Masai herders cohabit here. Spectacular landscape, inhabited by more than 40,000 Masai herders, dominated by the Rift Valley and the nine Ngorongoro volcanoes that began more than 4 million years ago. The only one that is currently active is that of Oldoinyo Lengai, the mountain of god for the Masais.
The crater of Ngorongoro, a giant volcano that in its time was perhaps higher than Kilimanjaro itself, allows thousands of wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, gazelles, lions to graze inside, which, unlike the Serengeti, do not migrate due to the continuous presence of water in the area that ensures their permanent livelihood.
Later, our unique and exclusive experience inside the caldera of the so-called Eden volcano, we head towards ARUSHA.
Night in Arusha.
Day 09 Depart Arusha (By Flight)
Breakfast at the hotel.
Departure transfer to the airport for flight to onward destination.
